Angkor Sunrise Exploration

In Cambodia generally around 4:00am early in the morning the people can hear the noise of the drum from the Buddhist pagoda, it is a time for the monks wake up to pray and in the villages the people can hear the cock start crowing to wake all farmers up and wash then go to work in the field.

This is the same time to go and explore Angkor wat temple for the most beautiful sunrise time and the great color of the sun getting up behind the temple specially the shape of the reflection in the water at the pond near temple, people can see the shape from the darkness while the color change every five minutes so the great pictures showing up into your eyes that’s spectacular and best time ever.

After the sunrise most of the tourists going back so this is a good time to explore Angkor wat by walk to see all details of the incredible carving on the gallery wall then leading to the top level for the great views over entire area and then time is up for moving out to the delicious breakfast waiting for. After breakfast all bikes and guide are ready to explain how to ride and a traffic signal, this is very easy riding on the flat dirt roads, peaceful (even beginners can do) and many things to see on the way till reach the southern gate of Angkor thom, Angkor thom means a great city which is the city where the king lived for hundred years. For this place the tour continue doing bikes on top of the wall that the local people say “the great wall of Cambodia “ then heading the beautiful called Bayon and visiting around one hour, Bayon temple is the temple was built in the late 12nd century dedicated to the Buddha and it is temple details about the daily life of people how they lived, what did they do on the gallery wall from that period then take a break for cold water, fruits and snacks.

In the minutes later continue biking to Ta prohm temple which is rounded by the fascinated green rainforest wall on the way, Ta prohm temple is the temple was built in the late 12nd and early 13rd century and dedicated to the Buddha and the king’s mother located on the low and wet land then over hundred years so many trees and green plantation took over the temple and also selected to film the Hollywood movie Tom Raider, visiting around one hour.

While the sun is heating up on the way we can see all local and farmers are at home and resting in the hammock because it’s getting hot in the afternoon and that is same time for the last legs to ride for lunch at the local restaurant near the temple, after lunch the van is ready to drive back to the town and tour finish around 2pm.

  • Angkor Entry Pass one day cost $20, two and three days cost $40 and need to pay in cash
  • Please dress properly for visiting temples. If you wear shorts and T-shirts, make sure they are long enough to be knee length and shoulder covered. No scarf or shawl and tank top are allowed.
  • In case, please take camera recharger with you when we have lunch you can recharge it.
  • In Cambodia you needn't to change your money. US Dollar is acceptable everywhere. And even you withdraw your money from ATM it is in USD. SPECIAL NOTICE: No torn or old note of USD cash or coin can use in this country.
  • Sunrise request to add on the day tour is 15USD extra charge and the starting time is 4:45 am (Please tell your hotel to prepare breakfast box for you) and take torchlight with you. Why charge extra? Because it is OT FEE.
  • For the tour fee you will pay when the tour starts or finish it doesn't matter.
